Accessibility policy
This site was designed in compliance with W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards, and in particular with directives concerning content enacted by the WAI initiative (Web Accessibility Initiative). Because of this, the site is accessible to all Internet users, including senior citizens or functionally handicapped persons.
A site in compliance with accessibility standards for all Internet users. Here are a few of the advantages:
- Site content is logic and hierarchical;
- Pages are generally displayed 30 to 80% more rapidly;
- The site is independent of the web browser used;
- Compatibility between browsers.
This site is compatible with all recent browsers that support HTLM 4.01 and CSS2 and that respect the CSS and XHTML vocabulary and grammar recommended by the W3C.
Compared with very old generation browsers, you may have display problems if you use the following browsers:
- Netscape 3 and IE 3: incomplete administration of HTML content and CSS page layout;
- Netscape 4 and IE 4: incomplete CSS page layout;
- Netscape 4, Camino, Galeon, Konqueror, Omniweb, Safari before version 1.2, Opera Windows / Linus before version 7 do not support keyboard shortcuts.
Navigation principles
The following navigation elements are present on all web pages in this site:
- The ETDE logo will allow you to return to the Home Page from other pages;
- The priority links on the bottom of the page: contact, accessibility, site map, disclaimer;
- The breadcrumb trail will allow you to know what page you are on and to quickly go to the next navigation level;
-The main menu will give you content and families in the site.
-A secondary menu (on the left, after the breadcrumb trail) will give you the content of the same family.
Font size
Some users may find it difficult to read small sized font on Internet. This site was designed in a way that the font size can be easily adjusted using possibilities given by various browsers:
- Internet Explorer: Chose the menu “Display: Font size”
- Mozilla: Chose the menu “Display: Font size”
- Opera: Chose the menu “Display; Zoom”
- Safari: Chose the menu “Presentation; Enlarge / Reduce font size”
If your mouse has a scrolling wheel, most browsers will allow you to increase the font size by combining the wheel with a key:
- Windows: Ctrl + mouse scroll wheel
- Mac: Apple + mouse scroll wheel
Downloadable PDF documents
This site also has downloadable PDF documents independent from the associated site. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, it can be uploaded from the Adobe site.
