ETDE in a few key dates


Founded in 1929, ETDE has consistently expanded around its core business: energy infrastructures. In over 80 years’ time, its scope has broadened extensively and new high added-value areas of expertise have been conquered in order to make ETDE one of the major European players in the field of energies and services. 


1929 : Creation of ETDE

ETDE (Entreprise de Transport et de Distribution d’Electricité) founded, with exterior grids as its core business.

1984 : ETDE becomes part of Bouygues Group

1999 : ETDE becomes a 100%-subsidiary of Bouygues Construction

2001 : Gaëtan Desruelles appointed Chairman and CEO of ETDE

ETDE earns €425M and employs 4,200 men and women. From 2001 on, ETDE embarks on a growth and diversification policy.

 

2002 : All of Bouygues Construction's Facility Management operations are incorporated into ETDE

2002 - 2008 : ETDE carries out nearly 62 external growth operations

Its two key objectives :

  • To establish a strong geographic footprint in France and Europe (Switzerland, United Kingdom, Hungary, etc) ;
  • To build up new technical skills that can be used to provide more comprehensive offers to customer (automation mechanisms, climate engineering, industrial maintenance, etc).

During this time, turnover was increased by a factor of four and the number of employees tripled.              

2009 : In November, Jean-Philippe Trin was appointed Chairman and CEO of ETDE

2010 : A new business plan is launched

Repositioning ETDE as the ‘Energy and services Division of Bouygues Construction’.
A new corporate signature was also adopted at this time: ‘Sustainable solutions for the life you want'.
