Sustainable cities
More than fifty percent of the population currently lives in cities and this trend is growing. The city of tomorrow will have to associate a high quality of life, many neighbourhood services and have a low carbon footprint. ETDE is contributing to this goal by rolling out solutions to make safer, more communicated and sustainable cities.
Cities and population clusters are one of this highest energy consumers because of their property heritage but also because of their infrastructures, necessary for life and attractiveness of public venues: public lighting, lightscaping, signs and safety equipment, digital networks, etc.
ETDE a leading player in city services, is a benchmark in these fields. A growing part of these services now concerns:
- Lower energy consumption,
- Preservation of the environment and biodiversity,
- Promotion of local and sustainable sources of energy,
- The development of eco-neighbourhoods.
In urban development, ETDE always prefers to have a long term vision, necessary to accompany its customers, in particular in their energy management. ETDE commits itself in the long term and to results in communities in the framework of Public-Private Partnership contracts, energy performance contracts, of Public Service Delegation. These contracts allow cities to make their infrastructures more reliable, more modern and performing whilst consuming less energy and taking their budgetary constraints into account.
Lastly, ETDE, striving to limit the number of interventions impacting the neighbouring population, accompanies cities and communities to inform the public and make their more aware (internet sites for progress reports, flyers and posters explaining the project, awareness of eco-behaviour, etc.)
