ETDE
operations cover the whole of France and many international
locations
With nationwide coverage in France all over the world, ETDE
offers career opportunities to suit everyone:
France
ETDE pursues a very active geographical development
strategy, with centres in over 70 French departments
and a dense network of over 180 local sites. Extensive
nationwide coverage means new recruits can explore many
relocation opportunities, or have the option of staying
in their home regions.
International
ETDE also develops all its business specialities on
international markets, either through complex turnkey
projects (as in Poland, Mozambique, Santo Domingo and
Turkmenistan, for example), or through long-standing
regional subsidiaries (as in Gabon, Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial
Guinea and the UK). ETDE also offers opportunities for
voluntary overseas missions and long trainee programmes
in Central Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.

"On international service, you
learn fast and take on greater responsibility"
"In January 2002, I did a
trainee programme with the cost estimating team at the
ETDE International Operations Division, working on a
hotel project for Turkmenistan, then in Cuba. I ended
up on a voluntary overseas mission with Sidelaf in Côte
d'Ivoire. Then following the events of January 2003
in Côte d'Ivoire, I had the chance to work in Burkina
Faso. This mission gave me first-hand experience in
a new job: project manager. Project managers play an
instrumental part in contract fulfilment, taking on
duties that involve planning ahead, minimizing risks,
and monitoring project progress, using sophisticated
scheduling, progress control and resource planning tools.
I made a conscious choice to work abroad, welcoming
the opportunity to discover new countries and do jobs
I probably wouldn't have had the chance to do as a new
recruit in France. On international service, you learn
fast and take on greater responsibility, which stands
you in very good stead for the future."
Frédéric:
"ETDE gives young people the
chance to show their worth"
"Worldwide scope, with well-established
sites covering a wide range of specialities, enables
ETDE to offer a huge breadth of career opportunity,
as regards both geographical location and job content.
Following a trainee programme at the Turkmenistan congress
centre and a voluntary overseas mission in Gabon, I
was recruited to join the production department of the
International Operations Division. After four months
in purchasing I left for Martinique to work on rollout
of the Bouygues Télécom network, then went on to Gabon
for a telephony project, and on to Turkmenistan as project
manager. This international experience has been immensely
valuable in helping me learn to adapt to different sites
and different cultures. Diversity sharpens our sense
of challenge and performance. ETDE gives young people
the chance to show their worth, by facing them up to
responsibility very early on."

Cyril
Cyril:
"The TF1 project brought me
a great deal of independence"
"I started off on a trainee
programme with ETDE Networks & Communication, at the
Cœur Défense site. I wasn't actually planning to go
into that field at the time, but the prospect of working
on a project of that scale appealed to me. I was given
a lot of responsibility, and I ended up on the payroll
as part of the team that would finalize the project.
I went on to manage other large-scale projects such
as wiring and setup of the telephony system at the new
Saipem headquarters in Guyancourt, which was especially
interesting from a technical point of view. The next
big step was the TF1 project, which again brought me
a great deal of independence, and a bunch of tough challenges,
as regards finance, technology and schedules. Right
now, I'm finalizing rollout of over 600 workstations
for the voice-on-IP system at the Saur headquarters,
a highly innovative project that brings ETDE a great
deal of credit and renown."
